Located at IFC Mall, 8 Finance Street in Central, Hong Kong, A Lux is a contemporary Japanese-European restaurant that brings together the refined essence of Japanese cuisine and the artistry of modern European cooking. With fresh, seasonal Japanese ingredients at its heart, A Lux combines meticulous Japanese culinary techniques with contemporary European sensibilities, creating a harmonious and imaginative dialogue between two distinctive culinary cultures. The result is a dining experience defined by Japanese finesse and European elegance.
Guided by the culinary philosophy of “Japanese Flavours × European Techniques,” A Lux’s menu is thoughtfully created by Group Executive Chef Lap and Head Chef Peter. Together, they pair the Japanese appreciation for the natural character of each ingredient with the creativity, depth and sophistication of modern European cuisine. From premium Japanese seafood and meats to carefully selected seasonal produce, every element — from preparation and sauce pairings to presentation — reflects the individual strengths and craftsmanship of both chefs. Delicate Japanese flavours meet the richness and complexity of European cooking, giving each dish a distinctive expression unique to A Lux.
While honouring the foundations of classic European cuisine, A Lux continues to explore new possibilities between Japanese ingredients and European culinary techniques. From precisely prepared sashimi and thoughtfully composed seafood creations to refined dishes inspired by European flavours, every course is carefully conceived to highlight the freshness, texture and individual character of its ingredients. Familiar flavours are reimagined through a contemporary perspective, achieving a delicate balance between tradition and innovation while delivering a dining experience that is layered, expressive and beautifully pure.
Beyond the cuisine, Victoria Harbour becomes an integral part of the A Lux experience. Surrounded by expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, the restaurant opens onto sweeping harbour views, allowing guests to enjoy an ever-changing cityscape alongside their meal. From the bright, panoramic beauty of Victoria Harbour by day to the gentle glow of sunset and the glittering skyline after dark, each moment brings a distinct atmosphere to the dining experience.
On special occasions, including Victoria Harbour’s spectacular fireworks displays, guests can enjoy breathtaking views of fireworks illuminating the harbour directly from the restaurant. Refined cuisine, magnificent waterfront scenery and Hong Kong’s vibrant night skyline come together to transform every gathering into something beyond a meal — a memorable experience to savour and treasure.
At A Lux, cuisine is only the beginning. By bringing together the pure flavours of Japanese ingredients, the elegance and artistry of European cooking, and the unmistakable charm of Victoria Harbour, A Lux presents a contemporary Japanese-European dining experience where gastronomy, space and scenery come together in harmony, right in the heart of Central, Hong Kong.
Over the years, A Lux has specialized in traditional-flavored modern European cuisine—signature dishes such as pressed French duck, lobster bisque, French-style roasted suckling pig, and house-made pasta have long defined our kitchen. Since 2025, we have embraced the spirit of shun (seasonality), introducing the philosophy and craftsmanship of Japanese cuisine to our table. Group Executive Chef Leung personally selects the seafood and seasonal ingredients from Japan, overseeing and guiding key techniques such as dashi preparation, sashimi handling, and charcoal grilling. Meanwhile, Chef Peter, with over a decade of European culinary experience, refines each creation with delicate plating artistry—blending the clarity and purity of Japanese flavors with the fire-driven aesthetics of European cuisine. This forms the distinctive A Lux identity: “Japanese Essence × European Technique.”
Classic European dishes will return seasonally as special highlights, while our handcrafted pasta remains a signature specialty we take pride in. Chef Peter, a graduate of the VTC Culinary Academy, has trained at Harlan’s, Rustico (under Juanjo Carrillo), The Principal, and Pano (under Ken Lau). His expertise lies in striking a subtle balance between “authentic flavor” and “culinary aesthetics.”
Our vision is to bring Hong Kong gourmets a contemporary dining experience that feels both familiar and refreshingly new—through purer flavors and more precise techniques.
